Hi guys I just recently purchased a 2008 Reinell 191 LSE with a 4.3L Volvo Penta. Today I noticed a leak behind the propeller and it smells like oil or hydraulic fluid. I took a picture of it. Can someone tell me what what is going on there? Thanks in advance

Looking at your picture you have the external trim pump with the white plug that will eventually leak. Your picture shows that someone has already put some jb weld over that plug. Volvo penta makes a replacement cover for the pump that corrects the original design/manufacturing defect. You will eventually lose enough trim fluid and your tilt/trim will stop functioning.

Use the search function and search for "sx-a trim leak" and you'll find plenty of people with the same problem, as well as step-by-step instructions to replace the leaking cover.

Before the JB Weld

And then this

Yours now with JB-Weld my not be fixable. What people have done is to remove the plastic plug drill and tap the hole and insert a brass plug. The white plug is there for when they cross drilled the passages when manufactured.
