Oh my goodness... I was just saying I couldn't find one in Texas and I happened upon one at a small dealer.. Looks very clean, 94 hours, evinrude 225 engine. No potty but has the changing/potty area. Has sink etc.

What are the thoughts of this old of a boat? They are asking little over 25 with no trailer.... that is an issue... when I can get a brand new boat for 47k but with smaller engine and lacking a few amenities.

As first time owners... a used boat makes my husband nervous but I thought I would ask on here..

Again, boat looks immaculate.

Thanks..

I don't know what the boat sales are like in your area so I can't comment on price but to me, that might be a bit high. But demand and condition drives price. May try negotiating a trailer into the sale - they run a couple grand.

It's an 11 yr old boat which typically has a 15 yr design life. So its getting a little long in the tooth so to speak. Sounds like its been babied though. Put eyes on it and take it for a spin.

So.. I agree with all you said.. this small dealer also told me he has a 2018 still on showroom floor hurricane 217 which is same boat I am trialing on friday, but it has a windshield... I wanted to find this boat but could not locate one... this guy does not advertise on boat trader!! Anyway, I don't love the color but it has a evinrude 225 hp vs. suz 150 on 2020... but he wants 49k for it.. he says its a late 2018.... it has volt/lime green and white interior.. the engine is what I think may be worth seriously considering this boat... thoughts?

The Evinrude would help me chose, but having the windshield would seal the deal. I wouldn't want a boat without one.

Color is a matter of choice. Green and white would turn me away, but then again you might be the only one on the lake with that color and really be a conversation piece.

Being a 2 year old model I would think he would be anxious to get rid of it, so drive a hard bargain.

So, here it is.. I think the outside is black with the green pin stripes... interior is white, gray with green stripes. Not my first choice for sure... but its a nice boat and if the Evinrude engine 225 e tec is a good/better option than the suzuki 150 I may learn to love it!! The outside is pretty...

Not what I expected from your original description. Actually, I like it. Nice looking boat.

Just be prepared for a lot of cleaning with white seats, and a lot of polishing with a black hull.

Yeah I am worried about that white interior! For sure... the 2020 is dark blue outside and tan seats. There is a 2019 with black outside and gray inside but its blah... probably would be easier to keep clean. but NO wow factor. to me anyway, I am a girl.... color is good. Baby blue and tan would have been my #1 choice. So you think the Evinrude is much better engine in general or just that it is 225hp over 150 suzuki. I asked the dealer of the 2020 how much to upgrade the engine and he said I couldn't, I would have to order. which is rediculous. OK.. well, thanks so much for your advice, I really appreciate it.

My boat has a white interior and its not a problem to keep it clean. I normally clean it every time I put it away and I bet you will to. That is a nice looking boat, good job. :very_drunk:

oh thank you! Its growing on me... I am hoping we can do a lake test with it... and also get price down a bit but I am not sure how much more that evinrude 225 is worth over the 150.. he is still asking 49,995, he sent me the sticker and it was $69,153... not sure how much of a normal discount they usually give on new boats in genera.

I have only bought one new boat and I did not dicker much on the price. I went in at the end of the year, August and bought off the show room floor. I got a deal as he wanted the 2014's off the floor to make room for the 2015's. I think 70k for that boat is high and 50k seems more in line but your at the start of boating season and if you don't buy it someone else will ( I used to sell cars, lol). Outboard motors are generally worth $100 per HP so the difference between what's on the boat 150hp and ordering a different motor and mounting it on the back would be significant, IMHO

My first (2) boats had white interior. If you use a protectant as part of your seasonal cleanup, you'll be fine. I wouldn't let that sway ya. Looks sharp and I agree on the full windshield...it's fun for all of a minute getting soaked by spray from waves. Then the novelty wears off as you're dripping head to toe making it back to the dock. And its a nice block to get out of the wind.

I'm a 'Rude guy from the start. In 2017 I switched to Mercury 4-strokes and will never go back. For me its all about the service. There are a dozen Merc dealers in my area, with only 1 'Rude left and no Suzies. If you have a local dealer, then that's no issue. Of course, the extra HP would seal the deal. That's just my opinion. As far as "quality" either motor should give yo good service.

I looked up 2019 Hurricane prices on the "see dealer cost" web site. Base model 2200 sticker price is $53, and invoice price is $39,7. Looks like your boat is very well equipped and $49,9 is a very good price.

My info is incredibly dated but....back in '00 I bought my Honda 115HP 4stroke for the Bayliner....at $10k new. They gave me about $2k on the Force 120HP 2 stroke the boat came with as trade in value. Usually the larger the motor the larger the price tag.

OK... here is another one... my husband just can't get past the green... I was getting used to it but he is afraid its still there because of the color etc..and worried about resale issues and its a 2018 etc. So, found another 217 2020 year model, so same boat with a yamaha 200hp ob and its my favorite color baby blue with tan interior, similarly equipped minus the upgraded stereo and is less money than the 2018 at 49,024. I realize the engine is 25 hp less but given all other we are leaning this direction ... thoughts? We will have to go far to get but we are ok with that ready to get out of the house anyway!

Looks like you'll be getting out your checkbook soon. The yami 200 4-stroke is the best of all the choices you posted so far. Just be sure there is a yami dealer close to you for routine maintenance.

A few years ago I had my mind set on a particular boat model. But none were to be found, plus my specific wants / needs meant it had to be ordered. The other problem was these upscale dealers didn't want a tinny fishing boat in trade. We went to boat shows all over the state and finally found one. Once I was able to sit in it I was sold. That dealer was half way across the state.

I communicated with that dealer by e-mail. Sent pics of the trade and we soon had a deal. The manufacturing date was 4 months away, just in time for Summer.

It was the best boat deal I ever made. The sad part is I'll never see them again because its too far to drive.

Nice looking boat. I can do without the green trim inside, but it's not to bad. Especially if they are willing to deal.

Actually if you are going to be out in the sun when it's over 75 to 80 degrees you will want those white seats. I have had light grey, light blue, and tan. They all get to hot to touch in the sun. They also show the dirt just as bad. I have main white now and love it. Don't end up cleaning it much more then I had to clean the other colors.

Yep, same here. Not anymore trouble then tan, light grey, or light blue...

In my experience, I rarely use the radio and would not spend any money on upgrades to a sound system. When I am on the water it's the sound of the water I'm looking for, When the boat is under power you can't hear the music unless it's blasting and you don't want to be that boater. My only advice apart from the boat and only you can pick that one is to get as much horse power as you can afford and the boat will take. I have been out on the water, a storm blows in and have to make a run for it.

You will never wish you had less horse power.
