Im new to this site and was wondering if someone could kindy help me with my problem,

My engine is a carb V6 200hp Yami

I know my engine needs servicing but i am short of cash for that right now and wanted to do it my self, i can tell the engine needs servicing because,

- It takes so long to accelerate up to speed (planing takes much longer than before)

- When at full speed it doesn't reach the maximum rpms it used to and it doesnt sound as loud as it did before.

- Sometimes it cuts out

Thats about it, i jus need to know what parts (fuel filter, impeller etc.) i need to change and how to change them.

Thanks sooo much in advance.

Re: 200HP 2 Stroke Yami Needs Help

we really need a model number to correctly identify the ign and carburation.
the basics are start with a compression and spark test
do a forum search on homade spark tester.
if spark and compression are ok its time to move on to carb cleaning and fuel pump rebilding or replacing. I replace them as the overhaul parts are almost the cost of the pump. reccomend replacing them every 3 years or so as maint.
water pump kits should be installed at least every third season as well as pressure valve grommet replacement and new Thermostats.
if your spark plug caps are orange unscrew them from the wires and test with an Ohmeter.
