I have a 200hp 2000 Johnson 2 strokes motor. I keep getting no oil light and horn coming on after a few minutes of running. I changed VRO with a new one verify the meter works by switching it out, change oil and gas line, purge air from oilline and bulb and I am still getting the same problem. It also seems to smoke more that I think it should be.

Disconnect the tan wire coming from the oil tank once.

Yes. Oil tank is full. I pulled the float, put a zip tie around the washer to prevent it from making contact, re installed and it still came on.

Does this oil tank have electronics in it ?? Or is it just a plain float shut off ??

Oil is in the tank. No wires in the tank. Just 2 rods with the black float in the center that has a sliding pin to allow the float move. You cannot disconnect a brown wire unless you cut it, and how will that solve the problem. I would like it to work the way it was intended.

Something in that oil tank is causing your no oil light to come on. What color wire is connected to your no oil light ??
