I've been welcomed into the "Mercury" alarm club with both engines blazing "beep...beep...beep". Couple of guys have worked with me on this site to isolate my problem, but I have lost touch in the past couple of days, so I am trying to get an explaination for this aspect of my search.
These motors are on a 24' Sea Ray Laguna. If the alarm buzzer is bad and I want to replace it, is that a Mercury part or Sea Ray part? Or can it be gotten from another source? I have read in several forums where the alarms on some boats are tied to the horn. My horn is underneath the bow while the alarm(s) that are going off are underneath my dash.
I'm going to do some isolation this weekend from info provided by a member, but I have read on several forums regarding turning the key on and off a couple of time to get rid of the alarm. Does that reset something? I am still so unsure of what is going on with these two motors that I am trying to find anything to help isolate the beeps. Thanks for the assistance....
