200L EFI Speedometer Cable

I want to replace the water pump on a 2002 Mercury 200L EFI but I cant figure out how to get the speedometer tube coupler apart?

I believe the hose connector should be a quick disconnect style. Just press down on collar around the fitting where the hose goes in. Kinda like an airhose connector works.
