Hey everyone. I have also posted this question in the Larson section, but realized it probably was more specific to the engine.

Obviously I own a 2010 Larson Senza, love the boat, great for the family. But to be honest I was not impressed with its performance in the water. Specifically it takes forever to plane, and just doesnt feel like it has any "get up and go". I wakeboard alot, and its been enough to get my big butt out of the water, but even then the boat has to be properly balanced. I initially used the boat in Missouri, but again even there I thought the boat was under performing.

Now I am living in Colorado! I hadnt used it but once last summer before I had to put her away for the winter, and it was a short outing.

Just had it summer'ized and the mechanic mentioned there may be some issue with performance here because of the altitude, and mentioned a new prop and perhaps adjusting the gear ratio. He also said he could put in a new drive but that wasnt "needed" to fix things

So my question I suppose is does this sound right? Will adjusting the prop pitch (I am getting a 4 blade stainless steel upgrade), and the gear ratio be enough to put some giddy up in this horse?
What sort of performance should I expect out of this engine, in this boat? Perhaps i'm expecting too much?

THANKS FOR ANY AND ALL HELP

Great website, just read through some of the adults only info about problems with WOT - i think this fits whats going on with my boat. So ya, learned alot in the time it took me to scarf breakfast. I'm leaving this up in case anyone has any specific comments.

Thanks - MileHigh

:welcome: to iboats

As you found reading through the adults only section there are many things which will impact your performance. If your going to say in the high altitude area, reducing pitch and increasing carb jet size will help. Changing out the drive is an expensive way to go but this to will help, but I would not go that route. Indicating that the boat didn't have enough power at lower altitudes will only have more issues at the higher. Start with the prop and good luck
