Hello all,
I have been running into the same issues every year for the last few years. When i try to start the boat up in the Michigan cold, itll either fail to turn over enough to fire up or itll just keep spinning. I have always thought it was a battery issue however, ive never really tried to fire it up with an older than 2 year old battery. When it does it my starter cables do get really hot. Last time in order for it to start i hooked up jumper cables to the car and it worked. However, at the launch, it did the same thing although it did start when i hooked it up to a brand new out of the store battery. The starter battery i had was an extreme walmart version with 1000 MCA that was just under 2 years old. I’ve been told potentially it is the starter but was looking for any suggestions, or if my walmart battery just isnt cutting it. Kept them on trickles all year. When its warm i have no problem.
