2007 Chaparral 256 ssi with 2011 Volvo Penta 5.7 GXI. Boat has been running great all Summer. Went to pull out of dock this weekend and lost trim control. Found the 10 amp control fuse had blown. I'm able to lower the trim from both the throttle control and the transom, but the 10 amp fuse blows when trying to raise the trim from both positions.

I've visually inspected all wiring, no visible issues. I've removed and re-inserted the leads connecting to the trim pump motor. There is a decent amount of corrosion around the motor/pump housing.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Dave

Not as familiar w/ your newer system than my own, but some ideas:
Two relays; one for up, one for down. Have you pulled those individual leads to the relays and checked them for corrosion?
Bad up relay? Maybe swap up/down relays if possible and try going up/down again?
Corrosion on drive rams?
Corrosion on pin that rams pivot about?
Can you post pic' of the corrosion mentioned?
Checked fluid levels?
Checked quality of fluid (pink means water intrusion)

Just some thoughts....others will chime in soon.
