Recently took possession of a 2013 Regal Fasdeck w/ 110hrs on a VP 5.0GXi-J (SN# 4012240455). Had 1/3 tank when delivered, topped off fuel and ran for about 5-6hrs on first day. Topped of tank when we returned and ran it again for about 30min that evening. Next morning ran it about an hour alternating between 30mph (sorry I don't remember the RPM's) and idling through no wake zones. Leaving a no wake zone, powered up to 30mph, cut back to allow oncoming vessels to pass in channel before throttling up to cut across channel. Once across the channel throttled back, engine seemed to lose power and bog a few seconds then stalled and wouldn't restart. Checked fuses, safety switch, neutral lock but nothing. Wife's first day out resulted in a tow back...
Back in the slip, motor cranks good and I've checked/cleaned all the battery/starter connections and common grounds but there's no spark. Multiple troubleshooting docs on this site mention a circuit breaker on stern side of engine but I couldn't seem to locate it. Heading back tomorrow to check if there is spark from coil but have two questions to ask...
First any clues from how engine stalled as it did (bogged then quit as opposed to sudden stall) what to look for to resolve spark issue? Secondly, if that elusive circuit breaker tripped, would it kill the starter circuit as well?
Thanks in advance for your input!
