I have always adjusted 3.0 valves with 3/4 turn of adjuster. On a couple of new boats I lose compression when doing this. Have specs changed? Or have I gotten some bad copies of this engine?
It's still 3/4 turn once zero lash is found. Many folks mess up by tightening until the turning stops, then give the 3/4 turn. You turn the push rod in your figures to start, but the important move is the up/down movement. Once all up/down movement is found this is zero lash. The push rod can still be turned at this point.
