So, you start the motor and in a minute or so you get I believe the "six second" alarm they reference in the manual, but the motor keeps idling fluctuating slightly in RPM then smooths out. Yesterday, I started motor at the dock, alarm sounded within a minute or so, I increased throttle to around 1500 rpm and let it sit at my dock for 5 hours running. Then we went boating, beautiful day, stopped to float around so I shut motor off, restarted, alarm went off and we went less than 100 yards before motor started to sputter, idle erratically and eventually quit. You can crank and crank the motor and it will not start. Motor does not appear to be overheating, good discharge of water and doesn't feel hot. Towed back home to dock, wife not happy! This was the 3rd time this happened (yeah it took this long to figure out it has been repeating itself), same scenario, once it dies, wait long enough it will restart and act as if nothing is wrong, with the exception of the alarm after a minute or so. I haven't confirmed it but, I believe if I started this morning, the alarm would sound but it would keep running and if I didn't shut it off I could probably use it all day. The motor runs great, yesterday it was smooth, was running 5400 rpm at full throttle, no issues except initial alarm and then quitting after shutting off and restarting. Any thoughts?
