We're at Bristol this week. Since I'm late starting a thread, Trucks and X-Men have been on track already for practice. Weather looks OK, but not so far away at my place with the same forecast, we've been getting frog stranglers after dark. Hope they stay down here!

News and Notes
  • Silly Season driver news - David Ragan at 33, is retiring from full-time racing and Matt DiBenedetto looks to be losing his ride at Leavine Family Racing. Ragan for family time and MattD maybe to make room for X-Man Christopher Bell or Erik Jones, both Gibbs drivers.
  • Tire rumor - Goodyear is working on 18" tires for 2021 Cup racing. I see a slew of new rules coming - Under car led lighting and coffee can exhaust regs. And spinner wheel regs, too.
  • TV ratings - Michigan improved over last year with a 1.72 from 1.62 last year. NBC is also saying Michigan had the highest viewership for a cable race in almost 2 years.

iBoats Fantasy Live
  • FloridaFishingNetwork is hoarding trophies. A 4 four time :first: winner this year. Congrats, FFN.
  • Still the shining star - justkiddin 5 has a 24 point lead over FlaCowboy.
  • Pole locks at 5:30 PM tomorrow.

Let's go Chastain! I wanna see some watermelon hit the track tonight!

Also, looks pretty much confirmed that Jones will stay in the 20 and Bell gets the 95. Tough break for Matt D.

Just saw this;

Sources: Erik Jones has an agreement in principle to a 1-year extension to stay in the No. 20 car at Joe Gibbs Racing. It is not yet signed. JGR says no comment, no announcement planned. LFR also no comment on 2020 driver (Christopher Bell expected in 95).

Matt D has been getting better as the season moves along. LFR's #95 team is the Gibbs way around the 4 car team limit.

Well I hope Matty D is able to pick up another decent ride, his improvement has been quite noticeable this year and deserves a good ride.

I guess they are all OK, including the 2 pilots. Minor cuts and abrasions are all I've seen reported.

One headline said minor accident. Right, the plane is burnt to a crisp except the cockpit section.

The fire dept said it was a small fire and the dept. was burning off jet fuel that spilled. That makes no sense at all. That's like having a kitchen fire and torching the garage because it has cars with gas in the tanks.

First Truck playoff race starts in short while at 8:37.

Jr. is taking the weekend off. Can't blame him.

Heats 1 and 2 are 55 laps and the final heat is 90 laps. With cautions this race can be run on 1 tank of gas. Doubt the tires could hold up for 200 laps.

Green flag.

These guys have trouble restarting. A single car spin by Ruch brings out the 2nd yellow.

Chastain did a neice  bumper on Moffit. Just enough for a wiggle and letting Chastain to the front.

Trade the lead again, then 1 lap left and Chastain is pinned by lap traffic giving Moffitt the opening to win the heat.

Dipple spins and collects a few others. Yellow.

Chastain was moved to the back of the field for a safety violation during the break pit stop. Too many crew over the wall.

Caution again for Crafton making Friesen go around.

47 laps to go and Chastain has worked his way up to 7th after the penalty. Enfinger is the current leader.
