The Cup guys are off this week so they can practice right turns in the simulator. Next Cup race is Sonoma.

For the other guys, a rare Truck race on Saturday and X-Race on Sunday coming from Iowa.

16 year old Chandler Smith started on pole and has led all the laps so far with currently a 4 second lead.

I guess he just got his GA driver license.

Chastain wins the 1st heat. Smith went to pit road with about 7 laps left and he has some kind of radio problem.

Chastain wins the 2nd heat, too.

Smith was going to restart in 2nd, but the Nascar cops caught him speeding on pit road. Back to 17th,

Chastain sweeps all 3 heats. Wins the race and $50K Triple Truck Challenge check.

He declared late for Truck points, but with this win he has to finish 20th or better to get into the playoffs. Not sure where he stands in point, but I think he's not that far away.

6 regular season Truck races are left for Chastain to move into the top 20. He is the only driver to finish in the top 10 in the all 10 Truck races.

NEWS: @NieceMotorsport FAILS post-race inspection @iowaspeedway and today's win will NOT count against @RossChastain's championship assault. The No. 44 was found too low, @Brett_Moffitt is declared the new winner.

One other thing on Nascar table are the actions of Johnny Sauter today.

On Lap 137, an incident between Sauter and Austin Hill brought out the final caution flag of the race. Hill got into the back of Sauter after an earlier on-track incident. Sauter, extremely unhappy with Hill, chased him down under caution and sent him spinning into the wall. NASCAR parked Sauter, ending his day with a 27th-place finish.

Maybe Chastain will be given Sauter's upcoming penalty.

Got to cooking between races and missed the 1st X-Heat and half of the next one. :doh:

Bell won heat 1 and is leading mid-way in the 2nd. 2 cautions so far, a blown engine for Starr was 1st and then Brown had a lot of smoke and went to the care center for smoke inhalation.

Bell Wins heat 2 just like Chastain in the Truck. Wonder how his ride height is?
