20hp Johnson water flow

Recently acquired a 20hp Johnson outboard, Mod. #J20EEOR, Ser.#G03939046, and, being a long-time Mercury owner am not familiar with the water flow characteristics. I am guessing that the water pump impeller may need replacing but don't know where I should be looking for the water discharge. Can any of you Johnson owners out there enlighten me as to where I should be looking?

The water exits through the center of the prop. You should have a tell-tale that shows water pump pressure, usually on the starboard side of the lower cowling which will have a water stream coming out of it.
