Hi everyone. I'm real glad I found this site. I have a 1987 Mariner ob187221. I'm changing it from tiller to controls. I bought the conversion kit. I have a Mercontrol control setup with the little lever you lift for cold start up. My problem is I can't seem to get the throttle end of it to work. It seems like the shifting is ok but the throttle seems to only want to work backwards. It seems like its wide open in neutral. I have tried adjusting the cables every which way to no avail. Should I just buy a new set of controls or am I doing something wrong here? When the control is in the neutral position you can't pull the engine over because of the interlock being locked againt the flywheel. If you put the control wide open you can pull it over. Is this right? Sorry to ramble on. Just wanted to give as much info as I could. Any help or suggestions on what control to buy would be most appreciated. Thanks, Ken
