20HP Mercury - Controls addition

Dear All, <br /><br />I have just purchased a 20HP Mercury, standard shaft circa 1981, serial number 573---, equipped with tiller control only, manual start.<br /><br />It is not fitted for remote controls and I have been told that the conversion kit is rare and may not be available in the UK.<br /><br />Does anyone know of any other way to put a remote throttle and gear shift on this engine. <br /><br />I have the Seloc manual for these engines but it is a bit sparse as regards the controls inside the engine cowl.<br /><br />If anybody has any info I would appreciate it.<br /><br />Thanks<br /><br />Stuart

Thanks seadogg but that site is US only, I cannot use it as it requires a zip code to locate the dealer.<br /><br />I have tried to speak to mercurys main dealer in the UK but they just seem to say that the parts are likely to be uneconomic and out of stock anyway.<br /><br />

If you're only looking you can use any US zipcode - ie 10017.<br /><br />Several aftermarket suppliers should have an offer - try Morse/Teleflex.<br /><br />Or, as usual, ebay.
