20hp mercury UPDATE!!!!

when to go fishing today and my motor would not crank... it sat up for about a months last time out it ran like a top this time it do nothin but turn over it didin have any gas why sittin...what are the things that may have happen??? i hope my brother didin screw with it...it just ran to good...

I did have to keep priming the buld im thinkin a fuel pump but you could see the gas around the carb so i iknow it was getting some i even pump the buld why cranking and nothing not even a hit... any info would be great thanks

Have you checked if your getting any spark? You need to determine if its fuel or ignition. Once you find that out it will be eaiser to try and help. I have been rebuilding/restoring and old merc 200 myself. By no means am I an expert on outboards but have learned alot from this forum.

yea went over to my shop today and got her running and i hope it stays this time...
I pulled the carb off and went threw it... the problem was when the float would move that pin that it pushes was hung up...i pulled it off pulled out the spring a lilbit then put a tiny bit of oil on it then worked it back and forth (that sounded dirty...)
when i pulled the carb off something black was right behind the butterfly small black with a hole on one side dont know what the hell it was...
