Found this 1970 orphan abandoned and sitting in the back of a dealers lot. I was told the old boy who owned it, traded in on a pontoon. Poor guy....one things for sure, he very recently spent a lot of time giving it a work over.

All new paint, wood, complete wiring including modern gauges, fuse blocks, bus blocks, cables, lights and was done right. New steering. Poly fuel tank under port side seat. from what I can see the hull is straight. no big dings, cracks, loose rivets. new wood through out. She has the correct 1970 120hp power plant. The engine and drive look to have been paid some attention. fresh hoses, filters, belt. new oil pan, plugs, cap & wires, coil, fuel pump, mounts look solid, year old batteries, trim pump, starter, alt. and limit switches appear to work, but will need some freshing up. boots look soft and flexable, but will change the gimble, joints, seals and boots. it also has a nice new trailer to ride on.

All and all, not bad for a 45 year old tin boat. after some massaging she'll make a good solid platform for my Great lakes fishing adventures.

dealers photos, will take some more when I get it home next week after they sale prep it.

:welcome: tkat, great looking Islander, but your going to have to give us more details on this find than that. She looks to be in pretty good shape.

Best is open a free photobucket account upload your pics there the right click and copy the IMG code and paste it in the link box on your thread.

Simply paste the IMG code IN your posts, don't use either photo uploader when you use the IMG code from a 3rd party site.

Just like any other copy/paste right click your mouse or use the drop down edit menu from your broswer's tool bar and select paste the text.

fetch

Looks like a nice find. Ready to chase the Salmon and Steelhead out in the great salt free ocean.

Congrats. Is Holland close to home port?

more than welcome to offer an outing once I get her ship shape. the long copper lines with a big king usually require a relay man. :thumb:

Good find, tkat. She looks like you can be hauling in fish last week.
