OK, I have the job to kill for, I would call myself a TOY Mngr. I work for a guy with over $1,000,000 worth of collector cars, and boats! I maintain them and do some restoration! I know, Its a rough job, but someone has to do it!! :D :D :D

Well he just bought this used Laveycraft cigar type boat and says to me, "It will only do 60 MPH, Make it do better than 70! I have an open check book to a point, Buying props, etc. Changed all the fluids, Of course synthetics everywhere, as I am kinda into that! Original prop tuned out to be a 15 1/4 4 blade S/S, 22P! Bounced on the reve limiter at about 62 MPH!(Trimmed up all the way! Put on a 24 Turbo 4 Blade 14 1/4, still 62, Bumps rev limiter just once in awhile! Ordered a 26 but havnt got it yet!

Needs trim tabs, looking at Bennett. (Good choice?)

Anyone know of any engine mods for marine applications for a 454s?? Not internal at this point! IE: Computer chips, Turbos superchargers!

Want to make a Drug runner!! No, Not really, just a go fast! This boat is remarkably stable at 60 MPH! This stepped V is really designed nicely!!

LubeDude

Call this guy Andy at Andy's East Coast Speed.

He does 'wonderful things' with rocket ships like the one you are currently in charge of.

He's in Rhode Island 401-467-3507
Tell em Pat Bonanno told you to call.
He'll give you straight scoop on what to do to make it 'leave the earth'

(pick up a parachute in the meantime)

LubeDude,

I am Thomas and I work for Bennett Marine in the Client Service department.

I am not that familiar with the Laveycraft, but from your description I would have to say a set of our ST12 Sport Tabs (ST12) would be a very good choice for your installation (http://bennetttrimtabs.com/sport.htm). They are manufactured with heavy 12gauge 304 Stainless Steel, vertical stiffeners on the sides, dual actuators per tab, high-gloss powder coat finish & they come standard with our Rocker Switch Control (RS1000). You should consider installing our Trimdicator system (IP1010A, http://www.bennetttrimtabs.com/trimd.htm) with your trim tab system too, since they provide you with real time trim tab indication and performance vessels need this information for easy & accurate trim tab placement. The kit includes two displays that can be flush or surface mounted to your helm and provides you with the Deflection in Degrees with the LCD's & Deflection in Percentage with the LED's. Also, our Auto Tab Retractor (AR512) would be a good choice for your installation (ATR info http://www.bennetttrimtabs.com/atr.htm), since it was designed to retract the tabs to their full up setting every time you turn the engine’s ignition key to the “off” position there by protect them from trailer, lift &/or rack storage bunk damage. Many clients can forget to fully retract them before loading their vessel, but you never forget to turn the engine off! Please contact any of your local marine dealers, catalog &/or Internet retailers to order our products and you can use the above part numbers to shop around for your best deals!

If you have anymore questions, please feel free to contact us.

Sincerely,
MJ Thomas
Bennett Marine, Inc.
Client Services
trimtabs@earthlink.net
www.bennetttrimtabs.com
