Thanks to all who answered and helped me change my prop in the water. I put on a 21 pitch prop going up from a 17 pitch it looks liked it help to keep my rpms done because they were blowing out after 3200 now I can push the throttle up and the rpms seem to go up nicely. I still have not put extra weight on other than me and my son so I will need to see if we plane off ok with extra bodies.

The prop dealer said that this prop should not be used fo a 22'W/A Cuddy 5.0 alpha one says the pitch is for a smaller/lighter boat -- does anyone have an opinion on that.

Thanks
Cool It

Re: 21 pitch prop

Is There any harm to the engine because the higher pitch is meant to push a smaller boat according to the charts????

Thanks
Cool It

Cool it,
If the Engine can Not make the Max rated RPMs at WOT........

Yes,
You're Lugging the motor....
And,
Yes, it'll lead to Problems..........

It's the Tachometer, Not a Chart, that'll tell you IF you have the Right Prop..........
