I have a 22.2 foot Aquasport Sandpiper, 2200 pounds empty weight plus 500 pounds for engine and holding 85 gallons of fuel and let's say 500 pounds of passengers and gear. I bought a newer (2005) Yamaha 150 2 stroke V6 carburated from someone with a smaller boat and it came with a 15 1/4 by 19 pitch stainless prop that will only rev to 4100 RPM on my heavier and larger boat. I am looking to buy a new prop for the boat and looking for advice on size and pitch. I am looking for overall boating performance, not speed or hole shots, just good boating to turn at 5500 RPM's at Wide Open Throttle (WOT). Can anyone recommend a prop size for me to get into this RPM range and explain why they recommend this prop please?
