I have a 22.2 foot Aquasport Sandpiper, 2200 pounds empty weight plus 500 pounds for engine and holding 85 gallons of fuel and let's say 500 pounds of passengers and gear. I bought a newer (2005) Yamaha 150 2 stroke V6 carburated from someone with a smaller boat and it came with a 15 1/4 by 19 pitch stainless prop that will only rev to 4100 RPM on my heavier and larger boat. I am looking to buy a new prop for the boat and looking for advice on size and pitch. I am looking for overall boating performance, not speed or hole shots, just good boating to turn at 5500 RPM's at Wide Open Throttle (WOT). Can anyone recommend a prop size for me to get into this RPM range and explain why they recommend this prop please?

There is something wrong here, but with the information supplied I can't figure it out. I need to know the speed you are getting out of that prop at what RPM and preferably by a GPS. You may have a tachometer that is not setup for that particular motor. Are you using the same tachometer that you had before you changed motors, and what motor did you have before this and what was the speed and Wide Open Throttle RPM did it show.
