Traded a $220 9mm Taurus which I took in on a trade.
Made a 2 hour drive just NW of College Station and picked up this little aluminum 16ft Starcraft.
Plans are essentially a resto (I'm an aviation technician by trade), but I plan on enjoying it over the summer first. Have a few classic car/truck restorations in our garage I've been building for a while and need to finish first.
So far what I've done:
Rewired boat
Rewired trailer
New trailer tires
Flushed fluid lower unit
New throttle cables
New bunks
Put it on lake Bastrop today for a maiden voyage. Had virtually zero throttle. The main throttle lever was actually not even controlling the throttle, just the gears (even with the new cables). I think the Mercontrol box is old and tired, so I'm having to make adjustments at the engine.
Dealing with some throttle issues still, but we plan on using it this summer before redoing the entire boat over the winter. I will however be repainting it (maybe tomorrow if the weather holds up), and putting in a new floor very soon.
I love the color and it matches our house almost perfectly, but I want the top white and I just happen to have a vintage white I was going to spray on my C30 roof which would be perfect!
