I just bought a 78 renken with a 225 d volvo penta motor and a 280 sterndrive. so its got a 350 in it and i need to know what wot rpms should b???? i know it needs a tune up but right now the best im getting is about 36mph at 4400 (about) w 2 people and a dog. now my alt is about 5500 and i have a good 15-17 prop on it. im thinking i should be in the 45-50 mph at wot so i am very new to boating so hard answers may need explaning. i will have many more ?'s down the line but this is the first. Now i already know i need a tune up but will that reall make a 10plus mph diffrence?? TIA hope i can get some good advice from people that know there sh-t.
