Just did a compression test on my 91 evinrude 225 after the decarb. It read 85 psi across all 6 cylinders. How many more hours you think left before an overhaul? It runs good as is. Would I need the complete kit or just re-ring it?

Hard to tell. But I´ve read in several posts that these V6 have stock compression around 90.

85 should be no problem at all, then.

Someone with more knowledge in V6 will second or correct me.

Compression mumbers depend a lot on the heads that are on it but I would agree youre good to go. Run it long enough to make sure you get all the decarb fluid out.

Good luck!

they did have a low compression cylinder head kit #433553, for that year.
i would think that if you are even across all cylinders & it runs great, dont worry about it.

someone with more knowledge should pick this up.
