225 johnson shutting off

I have a 93 model johnson 225 venom. it is beginning to quit in the 4500rpm range but only while running on the port tank.pulled the tank yesterday to check pick up line. looked fine.checked compression, lowest was 96 highest was 102.new plugs installed this spring. pulled the plugs,cleaned and re-gaped at .03.after motor quits it starts right back.may do fine the rest of the day,may quit couple more times.no alarms at 4500rpm.

If your sure this problem only occurs on port tank I would look no further. check to make sure tank is venting properly and determine whether it is contaminated with debris.also inspect or replace fuel fitting on tank assuming they are portable .If not there is likely problem with changeover valve .
