I have a 1989 225 Johnson that I've been doing some work on and now I've have no spark. I'll give a run-down to let you know how I ended up here.
I removed and reinstalled the powerhead. I disconnected the VRO pump because of an over-oiling problem. Before connecting the control cables I started and ran the engine a couple of times to make sure everything was running okay.
I then replaced and connected both control cables.
I now cannot start the engine. I'm not getting any spark. I thought maybe it was something to do with the neutral safety switch in the binnacle control but I even disconnected the main plug at the engine, cranked the engine and still no spark.
What should I check next?
