When I last posted I had tighted up the neg ground and that worked (also replaced battery and solenoid). But now it won't start again. I shorted the starter with a jump box and it didn't turn the flywheel. Also I switched starters with the starboard one and that worked. This is getting frustrating the trouble shooting combined with intermittant successes. Anyway can an automotive starter place rebuild (or a marine place) these or should I just by a new one?

Any good auto electric shop can rebuild your starter for you.

Howdy..<br /> Check your battery cables, i've run into a couple motors with bad battery cable which once there hot won't conduct the proper amount of amperage. My 86 90hp was intermintant on starting until i changed the battery cables
