Did I get a good price? This is what I sold my 1984 cuddy capri with the 85hp on it.

Input, please... Thx!

AHH... sellers remorse, its a nasty thing. All joking aside though, it all depends on the market in your area and the boats condition. Cuddy's in my area go fairly cheap, and your selling price is about right for a well used boat of your vintage. Unfortunately, Bayliners and Force outboards have bad reps nop matter where you go, so rest easy with being able to get $2250 out of her ;)

Kinda late to be asking, don't you think?

Photo of it would help but--- At any rate a Bayliner with an 85 Force--most people would not touch it at any price. So, yeah, Ya done good.

Re: $2250.00 help!

Thank you! TBH/ I've had 15 calls on it this morning. I've also tried uploading pictures here and cannot seem to get it done.

The boat is in good shape with full canvass: roof, and rear, windows as well as screen windows. The motor runs like a top but I've taken care of it as well as the original owner.... I'm the 2nd owner.

My fear has been something pricy going wrong like the tilt trim, or a motor issue... I would of either had to fix it at a cost or taken a hit in price seeling it, so, I sold it at the right time for me.

Finally... I cannot tell you how bad I feel!!! I love this boat but my salary hasn't changed since 2009 and we are in 2012 costs. I simply have had a hard time keeping up with my regular living expenses.

So, guess that's it for me...

Thanks for everything on this forum...

Dave

You totally came out on top . . . nice work.

BTW - you are going to get lots of calls, because it is boat buying season and your price range is very desirable.

In western Canada that boat would sell for over double that amount.
I wish I lived in the land of cheap boats!

Re: $2250.00 help!

Just sold a 15 hp Force outboard (to the first buyer) for $400, it was in like new condition and I felt I did very, very well. The stigma with those outboards scared the heck out of me. It wasnt my rig, I sold it for my BIL. A 15/Johnson would have comanded much more, perhaps double.
So you did good, selling you rig IMO.

Funny you say that cause I won't touch a Force motor with a ten foot pole either.....and I have no idea why.

I don't actually know why they are so infamous, but I keep reading that they aren't reliable so I won't even consider owning one.

The only first hand experience I have was this kicker I just sold. IMO Force was a ecconomy version of Merc. and by looking at this one, I can tell you they used quite a few parts of lesser quality than the standard Merc. I used or should I say tried to use this one as a kicker for fishing, and it was horrible compared to any of the main brand stuff out there that I had used in the past. I won't touch one agin either because I think most folks consider resale when buying an outboard. Just my .02

I've got the 1984 Force 85 hp and I'll bet a million GSA tax dollars it has been more reliable than every motor every person has ever owned on the whole of iBoats. How's that? Zero manfunctions in all those years and zero preventative maintainance except winterizations if you can believe that. Even has the original impeller. It should be in a museum being studied given all the other O/B of different brands I've owned can't hold a candle to the Force. I've never experienced anything like it and likely never will.

laughing at that last post, honestly I've never seen a force that the power head wasn't tore down on, or wasn't being towed in to shore by another boat. that makes my day seeing that there is at least one force still running. no offense of course to any force owners, I've just never saw a running one before.
