Hello all. new member here.

I just came into a 1974 233 Formula cuddy cabin. great boat. will be pretty when its done. been sitting for 7 years. the boat is complete but needs transon, stringers and floors. i paid nothing for the boat and its on a decent trailer. i couldnt say no. has the original twin 250 inline 6s.

doubt itll be so much money as it will be work. however, believe, i am well aware of how much money pit itll end up being. i say it wont be so much money because i have most of the wood already and almost new drives for it. i just need to rebuild the motors and im going to put a new smaller gas tank in it. its got a 100 gallon tank. i may go down to a 65-70 gallon.

ill be pulling the motors next weekend if i can get ahold of an A-frame and removing the floor. the motors need rebuilt. the deck needs paint (the gelcoat is all cracked up) but the sides will buff out nicely. the bottom is in excellent shape with no bottom paint. the boat was scarey as hell to look at when i picked it up but i know what the boat is capable of being. ill post pics tomorrow

ok, now for the questions:

1. the fiberglass from the stringers comes up and laminates to the floor. whats the proper way to reinstall the floor after the stringers are done with this design?

2. what is the proper resin to use for a job like this?

3. lastly, who has what if any parts for this boat? cosmetic or mechanical. :)

thanks in advance for the info.

Pictures, need pictures.

As for attaching the floor back to the stringers. Glue and stainless steel screws. I used Polyurethane construction adhesive the marine store calls that 3m 5200. Some folks use thickened epoxy on top of stringers and then set the floor on it.

A great book to read is:
Runabout Renovation: How to Find and Fix Up an Old Fiberglass Speedboat by Jim Anderson
http://www.amazon.com/Runabout-Reno...0255336?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1176991542&sr=8-1

For resins you can use Polyester, ala Fiberglass resin, or you can opt for Epoxy, its your wallet. Proper technique and attention to always following procedures required with either type of resin.

The sources I used for resins and fiberglass are listed in my project blog..
