24 ft. Cuddy Cabin- new axles and leaf springs!!

Thank god, I had an accident in the yard of a guy doing some routine maintenance instead of going down the highway. He was backing my boat up to replace a lost bearing buddy , hit the edge of his concrete driveway, and BAM. Axle broke! Saltwater plays hell guys on any trailer, so dont just assume if it rolls, its ok, because its not. Went ahead and replaced both axles and new leaf springs, new bolts, new lug nuts, etc. I'm rolling safe now. This could have been bad. Post pics soon.

Sounds like you did the job correctly. Good thing it didn't happen at speed. Makes you look at all the older trailers differently now.

How would you have been able to determine the axle was bad with hitting the concrete?

it broke when he hit the curb.

by crawlingunder it and looking it over... heavy corrosion = BAD
