Im running a 21 Pitch on my Alpha one with a 1.62 Gear Ratio on an upgraded engine to a 5.7L LX and am having problems with hitting the rev limiter. The 21 pitch doesnt want to get out of the whole and plane out to quick with my little 18' boat with more than 2 people in it. When I run the prop selector tool on mercs web site and enter all my info it recommends a 14 x 24 Prop at 700' above sea level. I know this will reduce my RPMs at WOT and will probably fix my REV Limiter issue but isnt this going to make it even harder to take off and plane out???
