24 volt trolling

I have a evinrude trolling motor, right now it is set up on 12 volt. My question is if I run the 24 volt would I be better off buying a 12 volt car battery to use when Im running 24.<br />And is 24 better then 12.

Hi Rob<br />Always use deep cycle Marine Batteries for your troller. A automotive starting battery is not designed to be charged and discharged over and over and it will have a short life if used this way. 24 volts is the way to go, as it will make better use of the power available and uses less AMP's for longer running.
