25 H.P. Fuel Pump

Anything special to know about replacing the fuel pump. I've cleaned the carb several times and still have trouble starting and won't idle. Could it be the fuel pump? Should I also buy a carb rebuild kit? Top of the carb says WMC. Is that the model? Thanks

Hey, pull your fuel line running into the carburetor and try to start the engine. If you get gas coming out the line, the fuel pump is good.

Recommend pulling that carb and cleaning it thoroughly. Then install a carb kit. That should get you going.

I thougt the fuel pump was the diaphram on the side of the carb and draws fuel in. I'm not sure how it works? If I do have a bad fuel pump, how does the the motor run when I give it throttle? Thanks for your help.
