I'm at my inlaws' and they have a 4 year old 25 hp bigfoot 4 stroke. Recently had the carb redone at the local marina because it wouldn't run well. Now it starts right up and idles fine until it warms up. Then it gets rough, misses and eventually, dies. Today I pulled the plugs and they were fouled badly. Cleaned them up and it ran fine for a little over an hour. Stopped to fish and it wouldn,t start. Had it dumping gas out the exhaust while it cranked, so don't think it's a lack of fuel. In messing with it, I tilted it up to get better access and when I tilted down to try and restart, I tilted it just enough to get the prop under water. It started right up and idled fine. As soon as I tilted it down it died. Tilted it back up and she started right up and we got back to dock. I'm suspecting a problem when the carb was put back together, but have no history with 4 strokes. Oh, and when it stalls get a short beep. Any ideas? I plan to change the plugs tomorrow, since they have never been changed. Don't know why the marina didn't do it when they did the carb. Any help appreciated, would like to have use of it the rest of the week for our vacation.
