25 HP Ignition Problem

Gentlemen,
My engine is not firing on the bottom cylinder. I replaced the plugs and the wires. I switched the coils and the bottom cylinder still not firing. Both coils ohmed within specs. Both the stator and the trigger ohmed within specs. My manual does not outline a test for the switch box. I tried ohming both the stator leads and the trigger leads coming from the switch box. In both cases I get no reading (open circuit). This may be normal for the switch box? Is there a test for the switch box? Any ideas what my problem is or what I should test next? Thanks for any and all help!

There is no switchbox test if everything els tests OK you replace the box. First disconnect the lead wires to the coils and swap them if the spark changes cyls you know for certain the box is bad.

Thanks for the reply. I switched the leads from the switch box to the coils and the bottom cylinder still will not run. It popped one time and then nothing. I repeated and got another pop but no consistant fire. I checked with a spark tester and got no visable spark. I switched the leads back and it fired on the first pull and ran on the top cylinder. Where do I go from here? As a note, I cleaned the negative lead on the switch box and both negative leads to the coils at the block and the coils. I put diaelectric grease on all negative terminals. Thanks for yours and any others help.

If you have a OHM meter or DVA get the part number off the switch box and we can give you the test for the system.

I do have a DVA and DVOM. The p/n on the Switch Box is 339-7452 A7. Thanks for help.
