Hi,
I have a 25 HP mercury outboard that is tiller shift controlled. I believe it is a late 80's early nineties model.
When i put it into go it will go, and if I run it at a low rpm/speed it is fine. However, when i try to add more gas and speed up, it just reves up like it is in neutral or something. Then i can shift to neutral and then put it back in gear and put around, but same problem as soon as give it gas again? Any ideas on this? Thanks for the help and ideas.
Also, does anybody know what it is that is supposed to lock this gear into place?
