I've got a 1984 Johnson 25HP Model J25RCRD that has been a workhorse for us up at our camp in Ontario. Lately I have been noticing that while the engine is running and you shift to neutral, the prop will continue to rotate in whatever direction the gear you were in. The prop won't stop rotating. If I stop the engine and shift to neutral the prop won't rotate when the engine starts. But once it's in gear the prop won't stop when shifted back to neutral. I have rebuilt a few lower units in the past, but those had obvious problems. Any Ideas of what to look for on this one?
