25 merc 1990 lower unit

This evening after loading boat on trailer I was able to pull the guts out of the lower unit by grabbing the prop.<br />Would some of you all give me some advice on how to repair this? Or can it be repaired I don't even know what held it in, in the first place.<br />Thanks in advance<br />Rmiley

Are you in an area where the temperature drops below freezing?<br /><br />Did you hit anything in the water?<br /><br />It would be quite unusual for that Nut to back off by itself.<br /><br />TMD
