I've managed to strip out the threads where the steering tension bolt is. What is the best way to fix this? Can it be tapped out and a new, larger bolt installed. Are larger bolts with the threadless end available? Will i need to make one and machine the threads off the end and pollish the end of the bolt where it lands to apply steering tension? Is there a temporary fix you could suggest?

Any help and suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Sounds to me like you have a plan. That's what I would do.

You will probably need to modify a SS bolt to match the old one.

Good luck. :)
