It would be a good idea to post what the motor model #s are and what alarms are sounding

Most likely your overheat alarm. At higher rpm impeller pumps enough water to cool the engine down. It is probably one motor that is triggering the alarm. How are the motors peeing at idle. How hot is the stream? Check intake for restrictions. I would get my impellers replaced. Get the entire kits. Might check the thermostats too. If it was a low oil alarm it would occur on plane and might even shut off at idle as the oil levels off.

Just post your model numbers and let's get back to troubleshooting, but not for a while. Sound "TAPS" for the last college football game of the season.

If you do not give info that is needed then you will not get the help you need.

That is no way to respond to a Yamaha tech if you would like his knowledge on what ever motors you have.

LF250TXR are the engine models . They are constant alarms and come on at idle .

Re: 250hp yamah alarms

So, you have 2 counter rotating 4 stroke 250 HP motors with power T&T electric start, 25" shafts, and remote steering.
I have never seen 2 counters on a boat before, but it can be done I guess.
Do we know what year?

Did you see or get a print out of the scan the guy did ,,this info would be very helpful
and was he a Yamaha tech or at least someone that knows what he was looking at when he did the scan?

Do you have any electronics gauges or lights that would tell what alarms are coming in?

Re: 250hp yamah alarms

What happens if you trim both motors down and only start one of them? Cruise around and make the alarms come on. Verify that both engines are having alarm problems. Pretty much the only thing that will cause a constant buzzer is an overheat or low oil pressure alarm.

Never had a des alarm go off on my ox66 twin 250s. Good compression, timing ... ???? What model, what model what model??? Service your impellers! If you havent had them done in the last year or two it is time. Check the oil level in the remote tank under the cowling. Doubt that is your problem because the buzzer wont go off until it gets filled.

You are absolutely right Jeff, no oil tank on a 4 stroke. Foot removed from mouth. Art
