You found low compression, didn't you? Think you should see something around 120 lbs.

1 3/4 out is the correct initial setting for the idle needle. Adjustment for a richer setting is 1/12 rotation c.clockwise, letting the motor catch up between adjustments. On the boat is best. In a test barrel is second best. On muffs is a waste of time.

Spark measurement is done with an open air tester, not the inline type.

BTW, is the nozzle gasket in place?

Do.you have a 3/8" gap on the throttle rod under the flywheel. What is. your compression

I just did a 15 hp 93 model that was doing that and found head gasket seeping water in cylinder causing a miss fire when hot
