Have a 78 25hp johnson was running rough when i bought it, rebuilt the carb and it runs like a champ now! Question is that after i make a long run the fuel ball is nearly empty feeling, does not seem to be starving for fuel when running so dont know if this is normal or not. Just dont want to lean out the motor and ruing it. otherwise motor seems to run great
I figure the fuel pump has to be working just wondering if mayble it is weak? or if there is a way to clean it out too? if it is even necesary

Re: 25hp johnson getting enough fuel?

The bulb will not stay hard once the engine is running but if it starts to be drawn into a partly squashed state it indicates a restriction in the fuel flow between it and the tank, partly blocked pick up from the tank or the tank vent not properly open. (or a very flimsy bulb!)

Try taking the cap of the tank. If that makes no difference it rules out bad tank venting

Nothing you say suggests problem with the engine or the fuel pump.

Suspect you may be trying to fix something that is not broken!
