25hp mariner questions

Hi all, new to this forum its great<br /><br />1. what year is my engine? ('83 or '84)<br />serial is 0a760821<br /><br />2.The engine starts in 1 pull and trolls fine, but when I go to open it for speed it bogs and seems to have no power? It worked fine last summer.<br /><br />I have bought new feul tank, and bought new plugs and going to try them today.I will also check today if both cylinders are sparking. I have been reading posts here, and have found a lot of carb kit replys. Are these easy to do yourself?<br /><br />Thanks for any help.<br /><br />ps is there any online diagrams of my carb?

Not the worst carb out there to do ,but on and off can be frustrating and I think I'dd like to have someone looking over my shoulder first time around.That fuel pump and primer can throw you as well as the base gasket assortment included in the kit.

an update<br /><br />took the boat out today with the new plugs, and still no full throttle. It will bog down and no take off at full throttle. I pulled plugs and they are both sparking. I found that if I pull choke out while trying to go full throttle she takes off and works but you have to leave the choke on.<br /><br />oh yeah, it also seemed to use a lot of feul today,about 4 gallons for about 3 hrs trolling. That is not good because last year 5 gallons would last all day. I can not see or smell any gas leaking anywhere, but she smokes a little bit more than usual.<br /><br />I tried turning the screw on the front of the carb all the way in and then 1.5 turns back, but no difference.<br /><br />any other advice would be welcome<br />thanks
