Hi everyone. I am looking for some information on a starter part # for a 1969 25hp Johnson motor. Here are the model and serial #s for my motor.

Model 25R69D
Serial 3163426

I am looking for info to either look up myself or if someone here can provide me with numbers. I need to know what years are compatible with that starter and other horsepowers and years the starter will fit. I am looking for a used starter on e-bay and need to know info before bidding. Thanks in advance for any information you guys can help me with.

Here's a link to BRP site. Click on engine diagrams and follow the prompts. You can check your numbers there.

http://www.evinrude.com/en-US/

From what I see, looked real quick, 68' to 70' 20 and 25hp will work.

Re: 25hp starter part number

OBJ sent you to a good site, but are you looking for ELECTRIC starter numbers?
If so,your motor never came with one.It was an add on accessory.
The online OB Accessory catolog does not go back that far.
So maybe you need a local dealer with some old paper catologs. With an accessory catolog.

If you have a starter that doesn't work, maybe a local rebuild shop can help you.Tell them it's marine.

If you don't have any starter on the motor .... you need a whole bunch of stuff.

What do you have ?

DHP

Re: 25hp starter part number

You are correct DHPMARINE, I am looking to add electric start to my motor. Sorry, I did not clarify myself very well. I do realize that I need to find the brackets as well. I am a machinist and feel that I can make what I cannot find, but need the part #'s that will work with my motor. I called my local dealers and they do not go back past 1972. So I am wondering if anyone out there knows any info that might be helpfull to my search on e-bay or anywhere else that I might look to get the parts that I need. As of right now I have nothing, so I am starting from scratch. Thank you.
