This is 1999 with electric start and trim. I just put in a used carb because the old one was severely corroded. The only mod was putting the old linkage on the new carb, other than that it bolted roght on and the condition of the carb was excellent. It was from a 2001 Yamaha 25hp.
I put new gas in and primed it with the bulb. The motor started right away then died. After several restarts and stops, I checked the float and it was full. I even drained the float via the brass nut on the side twice to make sure.
If I let it sit a few minutes I can get it to start and if I use starting fluid, I can keep it running very nicely. It's like the fuel isn't getting into the throat.
Thoughts or help? What about the little white choke valave that sits on top? Is there a way to test that?
