Running a 26 foot pontoon with a yamaha 115 four stroke. 3 blade prop with 13 pitch.... Getting about 21-22 mph at 6000 rpm.... The motor wots at 6200 and seems to cavitate a little if i trim motor up at all while cruising so i just keep it trimmed normal. Was thinking of switching to 4 blade 13 pitch to help with the cavitation and was wondering what others thought. Will i lose an and if i would increase any top end speed and will my RPMs come down. I think the WOT range for my motor is 5000-6000. thxs all.

Re: 26 ft Pontoon Prop question / suggestions

A 13" 4 blade prop is very likely to work perfectly lowering the rpm slightly should ventilate(cavitate) less
and slip less.Speed might increase very slightly, takes a lot to affect a pontoon.
You may find it responds better at the dock.
On a pontoon trim is used mostly to minimize ventilation
