Looking to buy my first boat for the ocean. Found this one has twin Volvo small block chev v-8. Engine look a little dirty according to the pictures. Would have a professional inspection done but this mfg. is out of business. Anybody have a Sun Runner ?

I was a Sun Runner dealer befor they went out of business, if we are talking about the same Sun Runner {built in Spokane, Wa}.
I never had any problems with the quality but the boats built prior to the mid 80s when the owner passed the company on to his son were better boats.

We have owned a 1988 SunRunner 230 Weekender for 6 years now. No complaints here.

It's been very reliable. Have a Volvo AQ231A (GM 305) hooked up to a Volvo DP. Plenty of spunk. Easy to work on because most of the parts, at least on mine, are ready-available off the shelf stuff.

Not familiar with ocean travel, but would recommend the boat. Handled Lake Michigan rather well.

Mike

Hey, new to the forum but I recently purchased a pretty run down 1988 sunrunner 230 weekender, (it's in ok shape) but the wiring is a mess!! I was wondering if you knew where i could find a wiring diagram to put this thing back together..I've been able to roughly identify what most wires are for.. but just would love to have an actual wiring diagram of some sort..any ideas?? even pics of completed wiring would be helpful...
