270 outdrive

Hi everyone I have a 1974 safetymate boat with a AQ130/270 sterndrive the drive is all the way down and when I hit the switch to raise it all it does is click it has the motor/hydro all in one any help would be appreciated I dont know if its electrical or hydro problem HELP! thanks Mike

Judged from your description "all in one unit", you probably have the electro-mechanical screw-jack sterndrive lifter. Not many 270s have hydraulic trim/tilt.

Since it clicks, there are these possible problems:

Faulty relay (corroded contact points)
Dead motor
loose wire
blown fuse.
Insufficient power supply (corroded wire terminals)
