28 horse????

[longshot]

I have the chance to get a 1756(welded) with a 28 horse motor on it at a good price. THe boat is a semi-V with a full 3/4" plywood deck, 4 seats, and console. Will the 28 plane the boat and perform OK?<br />thanks<br />longshot

Ahoy, Longshot.<br /><br />The weight of the boat matters more than the length, but I would think that 28 would plane a 17' semi-vee.
